Dassen Shartk attack

Chatting to a fisherman on the slip yesterday he told me that he had personally assited a spearfishermen at Dassen who had been biten on the leg two weeks ago.

 

Does anyone know anything about this?

Nothing, one boat got two Tail. There were snoek about but we kept their scales off the boat ;-)

Thanks ledge, it is rather strange as this information has a way of getting around faster than the weather changes here in Cape Town.

I get all the NSRI reports on sea accidents and shark attacks, and heard noting official.
Will ask the guys running that side of the world if they know of anything.

Where is Dassen?

Dassen is a few miles off Yzerfontein on the West Coast.

Nice fishing spot and good for crayfish in season!
The slipway at Yzerfontein is in a good working order and it is a great spot to launch from.

Just watch out for the commercials when the snoek and tail starts to run, they have no manors in the harbor.
