Hi Bennie

I would give it a miss. I bought lot of items from Aliexpress . Any type of product that involves firmware - software - or mobile apps . Most don't work out of China region , language is in Chinese , manuals are on Chinese.

For example I bought Hikvison CCTV system - cameras and NVR from Aliexpress.
Ok it saved me 50% but no upgrades can be done , You can only use camera from China region , if you buy locally Hikvision cameras ( exact same model)  it wont work with NVR. Software on NVR is actually Chinese version that is hacked and made with English language in order to be able to be sold to other countries.

Then I bought Xiaomi Ants camera that is top quality electronics and camera chip but mobile app is useless .

With this dash cam which I suppose that will be exposed to sun and high temperatures , Plastic materials may not last . It can only use 32 Gb SSD card - its too small maybe
Probably used very cheap camera chip , cheap optics,  poor night recording for sure. But again it is only R 250.00
Basically what you pay is what you get.

Rectron sells good brand - Transcend drive pro . rather invest those R  250 towards  something that you have support and for sure better quality and with good software.

Over here the cheap units go for around $80. Decent ones around $220. Commercial/ truck units around $700.
They are leading to many more prosecutions already.
