Good morning All. These two old school daiwa sl30 reels i did for Danie. We breathed some new life into them again. They got a ultrasonic clean, new carbontex drags and the JJ TLC treatment. Older reels but of the better, stronger and of the more durable reels diawa have made i think. You will note i tend to prefer the older reels, i find the quality of machining and materials used just better, corners have not been cut in production nor design and they were built to last unlike a lot of todays bling reels made in East. The newer reels do offer benefits like better drags etc but i love old school, the reels just have character. Next time you can have a look and see how many old school reels are still functioning today and check their cosmetic condition, then monitor of the newer better reels and then compare. This is also proberly why i like older cars more, they may not be small and light and super quick but they were built during a period when the focus was built to last lol. Enjoy.
