Occasionally, when a box full of reels arrive at the bench, a surprise lurks in there ...

It will never make economical se se to do these once offs, but what the hell !

An all synthetic body with a levelwind mechanism and slow as a crab, it was fun to first see how fast you could make it run and then to find just the right amount of magnetic control to allow fullbore, no thums casting.

To speed it up and lower startup enertia, all of the excess grease was first removed - my late father used to say that " too much of a good thing aint good either" and I have to agree with that one.

With all the excess grease removed from every single component of the levelwind mechanism and then relubed with ReelX oil, the amount of freespool improved dramatically and the final move was to do a bush to bearing conversion on both the right-and leftside.

Finally, the magplate was fitted to bridge the gap in the leftside of the one-piece frame and then do the spintests to find the right amount of freespool.

unfortunately I never even got the chance to test this, as I was having to much fun finally being able to cast my Torium !!
