Daiwa Ninja 4000 VS Big Boss 4000

Hi all.

I hope everyone is having a good festive season and getting come good catches ::tight:I would just like a little advice.

I am in the market for a grinder for some general spinning and lure angling. I am trying to decide between the Daiwa Ninja 4000 and The Rovex Big Boss 4000.

Which one would be a better option?

Some advice would be appreciated!

I have no experience with the Daiwa but I would recommend against the Rovex. It is a great reel for light scratching but for spinning the retrieve ratio becomes and issue. The extra effort that one has to put in to a fast retrieval takes it's toll after a while. I also had issues with the main gear on mine but I was told that it was a factory fault that some of the reels came with. However this issue was with the Big Boss II, I haven't used the III but I do know that the retrieve ratio is the same.

Ideally one would want a retrieve ratio of 6:1 or higher. It's quite a nitpicky thing but you notice the difference.

Get the Daiwa BG4000. I have all 3, the Ninja is more suited to fresh wate, the Rovex is ok. Do some searches on here and look at the Alan Hawk reviews
