I think with regards to the coffie Grinders the Daiwa Crossfire2500, Regal2500, Regal XI 2500, Shinobi2550 and Excellor2500 will be your best bet.Have a look ate these reels and see which one fits your budget!!!the price range varies on these reels!

Nols I see in your profile that you're a Bass fisherman with Bass gear? Why don't you just use the same kit to go dropshotting? After all, "dropshotting" is just glorified Saltwater bassing, bru. 2c worth.

I understand what u saying, i just want to try a different reel and the one guy at Western Accesories said that the Daiwa millionare series is a good all round reel that's why i asked for comments from the forum members.

Nols, I have an oooooold original millionaire which i used to use for bass. It's just a wee bit big by today's standards but what an amazing reel.

LL - I still got an original Millionaire... great reel... ja too heavy for Bass, but we used it for light rock and surf, casting spoons, plugs and live baiting in etuaries etc.... It then got stolen in the Kei, and was returned a year later when the local chief cleaned up his act down at Mtafufu...came home a little worse for wear, but some TLC put her back in working order, and she went with me back to the Caribbean and took her fair share of Tarpon, Snapper and barracuda.... Solid reels for sure.... She don't see much action these days, but she still is a graceful old doll...

For fishing soft plastics, I think a spinning reel is a better option, unless you fishing heavier jigs in deeper water or throwing spoons and plugs more than light plastics...

Nepp's, I still love the old millionaire. It is an awesome piece of gear.
My only regret is that I learned too late in life about looking after pretty reels, so it's very full of scratches n stuff.

LL - Bru, after spending a year in the transkei, my little Milli looks like it grew up in a frickin blender... Its soooo scratched up and worn out... she's def not as pretty as she once was...but she's got character...

Do yourself a favour, strip that sucker down, give her a good cleaning and oiling/greasing up... she'll come back to ya! ;-)

Nepps, it's still in perfect working order and where the opportunity presents itself I most certainly do use it. Hopefully later today it'll get a lil workout.
