Does anyone have the above mentioned Daiwa EXC100SH - i want to buy one ASAP but just want to hear if anyone has had bad experiences...?

I know, that shop is really useless, i also wanted to buy from them, but had no idea how (even though i have bought stuff online before), and when my buddy spoke to him on the phone he was not very interested, so i gave up on that place long ago.
But its the only place i knew where the reel was (the link), i dont care for the shop at all. Just a cool reel i think, maybe try get it somewhere else.

R700 for the Daiwa?
Im not gana say "dont buy it" or "it not worth it" or whatever, but i will say that i wont buy another Daiwa reel ever again. Just seems like too many problems with them, and the service i have had from the Daiwa people is rubbish, to put it lightly.

That tica looks pretty purple...

Hi I have the same TICA TACTICA, the purple one as per the pic, also have the TICA Thalos. I bought mine from Gani's Angling World in Witbank (they can post the stuff to you, well worth a try dude!).

The Thalos 7-bearing was R600, Tactica 11-bearing was R700. Old stock hence the good prices. Both have centrifugal brake.
I also bought the Shimano Citica Bantam 200B BTS (centrifugal brake) - wow what a smooth reel, paid R600 for it from them as well.

I am on another bass fishing forum as well and this subject came up about this week funny enough - Daiwa reels tend to be problematic, okes are not happy with them, however I think the Exceller was mentioned as one of the few good ones in Daiwa's range.

My opinion?
Go for the Calcutta or TICA - you can't go wrong with these. Otherwise do yourself a favour and phone Gani's to see what they have, and to compare prices.

Got 2 exceller baitcasters. Never had a problem with either of them and they a year and a half old. serviced once each, used on average 3 times a month. Plus they look and feel great.
