Daiwa BG40 vs Torium 30 HGA

Hi All.
Between the Daiwa BG40 and Torium 30 HGA,  which one is the 'easier' casting reel and which one will give the longest casting distance?
Will be pairing reel with a Technium Medium Rod...

I have both reels - what are you intending targeting with the reel? IMO I'd definitely say the Saltist for normal eds to small/medium ineds fishing - the torium is a little bigger and heavier and would suit indeds fishing better between the two. The torium also seems to cast better with a heavier sinker - 6oz upwards with a bait - then it only casts nicely

Only checked today that the Daiwa BG50 is more or less same size as Tor30....

Now, in terms of ease of cast, which one? BG50 or Tor30 HGA...

Will this reels be an okish seteup paried with a Technium Medium Rod?

Saltist is a better casting reel in all models. But like I said what are you intending using the reel for? If just for kob and other biggish edibles then a BG50 is overkill - the 40 will pair nicely and will be more than sufficient. I use my saltist BG 50 for sharks ONLY. I use the 40 for kob and pignose and all other big eds fishing. 50 is overkill for edibles
