Hi sealiners

With plans starting to fall in place for the December holiday season, does anyone possibly know what the crayfish dates will be??

The 2021/2022 WCRL recreational fishing effort is limited to 12 days between 20 November 2021 and
17 April 2022. Fishing will be allowed as follows:
• From 20 November 2021 to 21 November 2021 (2 days);
• From 16 December 2021 to 19 December 2021 (4 days);
• From 31 December 2021 to 2 January 2022 (3 days);
• From 15 April 2022 to 17 April 2022 (3 days).

It should be noted that only persons over the age of 12 may obtain a recreational fishing permit allowing
the fishing, collecting, keeping, controlling, landing, transporting of, or possession of not more than four
WCRL per day. A permit costs R94 and can be purchased at the Post Office. A recreational fishing permit
is valid for the entire season.

WCRL may be caught between 08h00 until 16h00 daily. The bag limit is four per person per day and the
size restriction is 80 millimetres carapace length. No person catching WCRL with a recreational fishing
permit shall sell their catch. Any lobster caught, collected or transported must be kept in whole.

The Government Gazette Notice in respect of the recreational fishing season will be issued in due course.

Not yet as of this past Saturday (13/11/2021). Not on system yet according to our post office here in Somerset West, which is obviously utterly rediculous, because now anyone who wants to go out on Saturday must either go stand in the q on Saturday morning, or take off work during this week. That is assuming it is on their system before coming Saturday. I just shake my head in utter astonishment with this government of ours........

Buddy informed me that Strand post office was on the system from yesterday.

I catch from a boat and this coming week end is a blow out anyway, so I'm not too bothered with getting a permit yet.

Not much around Simonstown. The best option is to head to the Point and either drop inside just under the lighthouse or head outside and fish along towards SW Reefs. Be careful, watch the swell and watch the locals.
