Nice... is it Lacquer applied over a alkyd base coat?

Actually I just buy the 2 part crackle paint. Off the shelf! LOL

Oh, OK, I didn't realise that it was available. In the "old days" it was done with a thickish coat of alkyd paint (any of the old type "oil base" enamels) and overcoated within a certain time with a lacquer before the alkyd had dried too much.
Edit: Come to think of it, that's probably exactly what the 2 parts you mentioned are.
