It's not false. Koi are colourful carp, and if they escape into wild dams and rivers they do go feral and can grow very large.

There are quite a few places in England where you can catch these. Like I said, as far as I know they are Koi that have gone wild. I once heard that there was a place in JHB where you could catch them too!

that place is emerentia dam.there are big koi in there
