Russel Horne - 021 939 6838.

Warning don't go there with lots of cash - You will end up spending it all because he has a full range of articles and very well priced. What he does not have he will source for you. Very nice chap!:SSS

Beg to differ completely. Had a lot of bad experiences with this bloke. I will

never go there again - will rather quit fishing than to go back there again.

I buy all my fishing goodies at only one place. Never had a bad exp there.

(ok will not really quit fishing)

After being a regular customer there for 15 odd years I too had a bad experience and will not go back. Rather spend my money where it is appreciated. I spent thousands at his shop.

I agree there. I found him to be condescending and down right rude most times. Dont shop there anymore either.
Would much rather get great service from Arthur or Keith at Fishing Specialist

Hiya Guys,

I have known Russell since before his shop days and he has always had a VERY dry sense of humour. That does not make him a bad guy, infact it sometimes means you get a honest reply with no frills or sales talk. As I remember him, he would always be a honest straight shooter.

What he has done with his garage shop is amazing and you will always get good bang for your buck.

Maybe he has called a spade a shovel when dealing with a certain incident, but I believe he would never intentionally do anyone out of a hard earned or spent rand?

You summed it up very well Trophy. I will admit the first time I went there I was also of the opinion that the guy said what he said too straight and to the point but after a while I saw that he was just being honest and to the point.

Some people are just not peoples persons.

I shopped there twice. The first time I only stopped over to get one item. It felt slightly "cold". Just shrugged it off.

Next time I phoned to ask for an item. He had it. The only shop in Cape Town who stocked it. Rushed over and he opened the "shop" for me. Still felt "cold". I too take a while to "warm" up to people.

Will pop in again. :)
