 I Would've Preferred to have Been taught how to Gaff my fish Properly .

The correct way to Gaff ... 

This was only a small Sample  of what the Point has to Offer .

Sadly though-  the Red tide in the water Played a MAJOR role in Sturday's dismal Performance , and it would have been rather Nice  to have been Better prepared , and Actually been able to discover what it was that removed my two beautiful Hooks .

The spot is Nothing short Of amazing , and Renier and Co. Swear by it . What else would be of More reward then , after walking so Far , but a Fairly Large sizer bronzie , as we've seen posted up in previois Pics .

so yes- myself and psy blanked , big-time . A Nice cold Brannewyn n Teer would have gone Just Nicely , right about Now ....

Sadly , at roughly 16 hoo , we decided to Call it a Day .

 Heaven Knows we'd tried every trick in the book , and the walk Back lingered in our minds constantly as We shuffled around where to put back what .

Darius cleverly donated all his bigger baits to Me for another Day -( joh - that Eastern tuna bleeds like a flesh wound !!) as He wasn't Planning on carrying it back along the 3.47 Km route ..

Pleks ek't dieselfde gevoel gehad .

  The Trip back was a little easier , though Not Any bit shorter , and with a dissapointing Day's fishign behind you , one tends to have to work at lifting one's Feet up .

How's that for a long face .

Great report, maybe next time! Is there going to be a next time? Do you have the feeling back in your legs or are they still stiff as broom sticks? I promise next time I'll get a house with a flat drive way. My wife asked what happened to you guys, the one moment you were there and the next..... gone. I told her that you went back to the fire but while you were going you decided to keep it like that. If you had to stop again it would have turned into a sleep over. Next time give me enough warning so that I can stock up on the good stuff.

I will however pack only what is required, carefully as one must make allowance for the walk home (with water)! The Point is majestic, It can be fished in any weather. The beauty of it is that no-one else is there (that is where the BIG C...ks) hang out!!

Its beauty is unsurpassable.

Our next mission firstly will be to fish "The Island" and work the beach at "The Gap"

 I Put a Lot Of Effort into This One , would also explain why I take so Long to go anywhere ,as I want photo's . Photo's always Tell a Story .

  Any of you wanting to go there again , heed Only 3 Things :

200 Lb steel Trace . Dont make the same Stupid Mistake i Made- Cuz when he swallows your 2  10/o hooks , turns his head and gets to the trace bit, you don't want him biting you Off , Not after a walk like THIS ....

Water . 4 L per person on a sunny day will only be Just enough . Tie it to some string , as the sun will cook it chop-chop , and Let it Lie down in the pool below. cooler Box- sorted . Psy's entire 4 L remaining Water came floating Passed us 2 hours after arrival- apparently he'd left it In his private splash pool , and The Sea came to Fetch it .... Big Mistake. But keep it in the water and you'll have nice cool water to drink .

Fishing 2 rods .hmm.. I'm no expert , but renier Is , and if he Tells you you taking a chance gooing two rods , Believe him .  Whaler etc and I took a Second Rod in Case number One broke ,but I started using number two as a throw bait , 1: to cure my absolute curiousity to see if it would work there , and 2: it was awful quiet man , and I really just couldn't sit there and wait .

Also a big Thank you to Pappa bear Whaler ( yes the same whaler who kakked Me out in a ray named Frans- Ou nuus Pappa - Ons Hengel al saam ! Ha Ha Ha !!) for Taking us with , to the Point ... I would Not have done it If he hadn't Invited us Along .  Dankie Darius ...

And for Those of you Wanting to Know what the Motivator is , to Keep the Feet going underneath you , even though you feel Like you wanna DIE - Well- i Leave you with this .

When a pal sends you 3 Photo's of fooshes that he's caught , and you can See it's robberg - well - all of a sudden you wish you could  See yourself crouching down Next to that  Long slab of Muscle .

Psy, jy is 'n yster. You will walk dust into the eyes of many of us. I think the problem is that you don't want to walk all the way and then run out of stuff so you end up carrying a lot more than you need. The Robberg pro's like Whaler, Renier, Tuna and others know exactly what to take and what is just extra weight.
