Conoflex grip

PM Enigma on SEALINE - he should have. also ask him whether he just applies straight or with some form of glue under the shrinktube. There are different thoughts on this, but his finished work looks top-notch and he should be able to give you some pointers ...

You can apply the shrinktubing over any old grip (cork, Hypalon, even whipping cord as on some really old rods) to upgrade. The shrinktube is quite thin, so remember some bumps, holes and other imperfections may spoil the "look". Shrinktube over old whipping cord does not look bad - over old cork gives a nice "feel" - over old Hypalon or any softish grip is great . You may have to shape or sand the old grip to reduce diameter a bit ...

I got my X-Flock Shrink tube more than a year ago from overseas mailorder (I know Mudhole and Acid Rod had stock when I last checked - do a Google search as I do not want to get into trouble with Admin for posting links ...)

You need a proper heat gun to apply it correctly - when I first tried it I just about burnt out a hairdryer  - needless to say this did not go down well at home!

Yes I allready send a pm to Enigma on the heat shrink topic among other things. I'm probably going to put it straight onto the blank of my new project, I dont have the biggest hands so try to keep the diameter down. I guess it depends on the type of glue, I use Genkem contact adhesive for just about everything but I think you might mess it up if you heat it to much.
