Congo - tigers and other beasts

Manne

Soek asseblief raad.

Ek gaan later die maand Congo toe (nie DRC nie) vir werk. Natuurlik kan mens nou nie na die Congo rivier en al sy tribs toe gaan sonder n visstok nie.

I am not geared for Tigers at all, and my knowledge on them is limited.

I would appreciate any advice, from gear, line, terminal tackle etc etc

I have a Passions stick dropshot rod, heavy, with a shimano 5000 reel. I have fireline braid on it, but this has been giving me trouble in the salt. (The braid seems to always cut the fluoro leader, even 50lb leader.)

I would like to cast some lures and do some bait fishing. So info on both would be appreciated. (Type of lures, traces, rigs for bait and livebait etc)

Dankie

Jacques

try to get a shimano tiger special spin rod 2pce its a heavier model , 20-30lb braid fine take plenty #1-4/0 hooks esp 92247 mustad in the smaller sizes plus spare mono 10-15kg to trade with locals [give the locals a few hooks and line and you will never be short of bait] .Trebles are good but any cutting point hooks better steel wire is a must with good brand power swivels on black colour few floats in diff sizes and a selection of leads sinkers should cover you .
