CONA

Made a large flat face cona from off the shelf PVC fittings. There are so many different sizes available so the variations are endless.

I'll pull it tomorrow to see how it works.

Bog standard fittings:

Reducer and 50mm end cap about R5 cost

Then fitted one of these bugs on the inside. Use a screw driver to line it up with the hole.

Then I flattened a lead ball in the vice, about 1 oz and glued it into the black reducer.

Looking forward to some feedback on the innovation.

Cheap and nasty and I'm sure will land a few fish and even if a Bill does smash it on the first pull you can make a heap of them for the price of a single Kona

Have you tested this one, Bennie? I would have thought it would be a bit light? Even with the sinker?

Anyway, good idea! I also look for lures in everything I see. It's a disease! :rasta:

If you wanted more weight, maybe you could put a few more sinkers in it and fill the front of it with the expanding foam that comes in a can.

Great idea seeing Conas arent the cheapest thing around, are those skirts available at tackle shops?
Hi,
Most guys don't want you to buy skirts. There is only 1 place to buy skirts. www.demontackle.co.za

Check these teasers...

nice work Bennie!
Thanks, Buddy.

If you watch that footage of the Billfish where we got the Blue, you will spot we were pulling these. They are brilliant for small ski-boat applications. Compact, fits right in a hatch. Spreaders and dredgers are a pain. Tangle and generally are a nuisance to store and retrieve when you have a strike. With these we let them out from the console area. The skipper can pull them out while still controlling the boat.
