Cona

Made a plug from wood. Sealed it and made a mould from it.

The plug before painting it.

The lead inset. Had to make a mould for this too. It is wider at the bottom, in the hopes it will help keep the head upright. Most lure don't have this but I heard about this many years ago.

Just a serious question, Cause I don't know, but these Cona's, do you trawl them at speed or do you's jig them, actually I've seen them and they always look so good, but I don't have the foggiest which species they are meant for or how they are used?

No probs.

We troll them in a spread. This particular one I'm hoping will work well right at the back in my Marlin spread.

Thanx Bennie, just one more thing when you say a "spread" does that refer to the couple of skirts in a row, spaced in front of the actual hook fitted lure?

No LGF, it is a series of lures placed in certain positions behind the boat.

Thanx FA, now I learned something extra, always wondered what those long pole like things on the side of those boats was used for, guess it's for some lines to widen the spread, Thanx a mill.

Let me know if you guys are interested in a full tutorial?

That would be nice!!
Cool. I want to make a new one specifically to complete a Sailfish spread. What do you reckon it should be? Bullet, Longer head cona (more stable), slanted head? I was thinking maybe a Tube?

@Swarley, Tuna, Yellowtail? Any game fish really. Why guys don't use more conas down there is beyond me.
