Hi All
I hope all is well. It is that time again for us to venture out into the sea to try our luck in catching a big one. This time around we are venturing out into the sea with a cause.
Three weeks ago, one of our sea-mates’ 11 year old daughter had an accident with a pan of boiling oil. She accidentally pulled it over on top of herself and has suffered 2[sup]nd[/sup] and 3[sup]rd[/sup] degree burns from her stomach down. She has been hospitalised and is receiving burn treatment at hospital. Due to the nature of her injuries the bulk of her recovery is spent at home with specific aftercare. It has been estimated that the cost of this aftercare is going to cost in the region of R50’000.00. I would like to make our next competition a fundraiser to contribute some money towards this immense bill.
I know there are many causes that are very worthy of assistance and we cannot get to them all, but here is one of our brothers whom can do with some assistance from us. Please I am again appealing for any assistance in this joint venture in raising funds.
Date: 31[sup]st[/sup] March 2012
Time: 7am
Cost: R300.00
All boats welcome
Bring whatever fishing gear you can muster. Usually there is extra tackle for those that don’t have. We are trying again to organise a spit braai for the close of the day. We so far have confirmed six boats for the day and are waiting on feedback from some more. If you know of anyone that is a keen fisherman and has a boat and want to enter for the day please bring them along. I need extra boats because the response we have so far is overwhelming. I need to get a response before the 18[sup]th[/sup] March 2012.
We are basing the scoring on 1point per species and 4ponts for weight to make things interesting. We have some nice prizes from a tackle shop and possibly more prizes top come.If any assistance is needed with fishing permits please let me know as Glynis is very proficient in this regard. I would like to get us in the water before the year goes too much into winter as the guys are pulling some good fish at the moment, yesterday I received a 7,2KG Yellowtail for the coals.
The boat will be held at the Oceana Power Boat Club and we are gathering at 7am in the morning to get the boats in the water. Just as a caution last time the police did a full check on all vessels and permits as we entered the water. If they want to assemble at the launch in the morning we will be there at 7am and can sort out entries there. Just a reminder the prizes are not huge, but they are worthwhile to any fisherman that wants to join. We want to be back at the launch around 14h00 – 14h30 being the cut-off. There is a cash bar at the clubhouse as most people know.
Contact me for any further details.
They are out there ready for the picking.
Regards
