Coast between Mosselbaai and Danabaai to Fransmanshoek

Guys,

The stretch of coast between the Point at Mossel Bay and Danabaai and from

Danabaai to Fransmanshoek.

Where is good spots to go to?

For edibles and sharks.

I have spend an afternoon at Fransmanshoek just watching and looks like an awesome place. But also very dangerous.

My parents are moving down to Danabaai later in the year and my dad love rock and surf fishing. When I get the opportunity to visit them I would like to spend some time with him on productive spots.

By the way how do you get Google map on a tread?

Thanks for the advise.

Hi Gerhard.

I can only share personal experience.
We've just stayed 10 dyas in Dana baai for the first time, also looking to fish for the big edibles and non-eds.Fantastic place.
At the lighthouse the kids got some blacktail, strepies and puffers (Toby's)
At Pinnacle point, we were chased away like rabid dogs by the casino security (who apparantly controll access to this area) as we cannot prove at least five years membership to Mosselbay R&S angling club, so all you'll catch there is some bad shait. (Stick up your's you jerks).
Fransmanshoek seems a great place, we ended up there more than once as well.
A 40kg cob was caught there over the weekend and again the old faithfull blacktail, strepies and lots of toby's were caught.
I understand Gouritz mouth is also a great place to fish - the wind just gave us uphill on Tuesday.

That's all my 2c is worth.
Enjoy

Thanks,

I have caught a lot of Toby's on Danabaai's strand as well as some good size kolstert.

Fransmanshoek can get crowded very quickly and then dont want to be on the rocks.

Gouritz is definitely on the list of places to go and explore.

There are a number of Sealiners in that area, do a quick search on Mosselbay and see if any names come up more than once.
I'm sure these guys will give you some great advise.
Even try Baitmaster - He works out of Plett and might refer you to some helpfull guys.
P.S. - Be carefull of his bait - he overdoes it, rather than underdoing it - excellent doing bussiness with him, he goes the extra mile, service and quality.

Last December holiday I caught my 9kg kob at Danabaai on white mussel. With one of our friends showing off his kob at our camp site, almost double my kob's size, also caught at Danabaai. We caught lots of kolstert and lots of small steenbras. We also tried our luck at Fransmanshoek, but ended up with no fish and sore backs climbing up and down those steep rocks. I heard that the guys have pulled out huge kobs at Fransmanshoek in the past.
You must try "Skurwe Bankies", between the Mbay harbour and the Point, the guys say that it is also a good spot. I only caught small kolstert and red roman there though. But all in all the fishing during the holiday did not produce much fish, with even my dad's Sprinbok buddy not catching anything big.
