Clanwilliam (Western Cape)

Hi all

I am ging to visit Clanwilliam for the day, but am not familiar with the area.

Is there a free public picnic spot where one can fish? Or do you have to go via a resort?

Hey man,

There are a few, and there is a road aroudn the entire dam, that a normal car can drive on, and you just spot off where ever you want.

The main camping area has some fish along the rocky walls, and opposite the launch ramp ( on teh other side of the dam) next to Cedar in - you can fish that entire bank! cast to the light patches in the water - and take a swim!!
