Circle Hook with slided J-Hook

If we need to keep the gap between the circle-hook point and the shaft OPEN then.....

Please advise the pro's and con's in your opinion on why you can not use a J-Hook slided on to your Circle-Hook to tie the bait onto:eg. Sards, Mussel, Prawn, rooiaas etc

OR

Should you rather use a bait-spring on the circle-Hook to tie the bait to.

Thanks in advance

Wouldnt this increase the chance of Gut or gill hooking the fish? the point of circle hooks is to prevent that

Apologies.....Need to cut only the sharp point of the J-Hook off..Only intention would be to tie the bait to the J-Hook.

If we can get a J-hook into the bottom of a circle, it would be cheaper than a dingle dangle.

I know that open-eye j-hooks for ganging are easily available overseas. Does anyone know who stocks locally?
