guys I was wondering do they use epoxy to hold the metal inside the centre
your replies will be much appreciated thanks
Hi Thiyo, welcome to sealine
I have made a lot of my own plugs and technically speaking, there's no need to keep the wire inside the body of the lure with epoxy. The eye on front and back keep the body centered on the wire.
But when adding weight to the tail on some of my plugs, I have drilled out a large hole (say 12mm down the center from the rear) and filled that with a mixture of lead shot and epoxy, so in essence, yes, I have used epoxy, but not to hold the lure body onto the wire.
Having read this thread for the first time, I have had mixed results with assists but very good results with a short shank, wide gape single attached to the rear with a split ring.
