How long playback do you get on that ?

Was looking at getting a sound system, but thinking that might work better. I am maybe just going to add a cigarette lighter charger to the boat.

The batteries on those little Shox speakers seem to last for ages before having to recharge. I find tho if you run an Ipod as your player with them the sound is too soft (I love it loud).

I easily get a full mornings fishing out of them...6hrs+
It is a bit soft but works just fine for radio, news etc...

You guys need these, it turns any surface into a speaker so you can imagine the acoustics from a fibreglass hull!!

No need to risk bombing the I-pod into the water as you just load up your sd card.

Bulky, I can vouch for the Fusion. Got it on my boat which is an open CC. No problems thus far.

As for speakers, the cheap ASC speakers are best. I had them in the open and could hose them down. As for radios, the boss head hidden away with an external remote.

That's what I have and it works for us.

Given up on radios for ski boats going to tuck a cheap amp away in a nice dry spot and run a lead out to connect to an Ipod

I'm with you on this. I got a DIY amp kit from Electronics 123. Solder a 3,5mm stereo jack onto the L&R inputs, seal the whole thing up in a small housing (also available from them) just be sure to cut out the back of the housing and mount the heat sink so that the fins are outside and able to cool the ICs. Then get some waterproof speakers. If you are not competent with a soldering iron, take it to an electronics repair place and ask them to build the amp for you.
