Hi Guys,
The changeable sinkers by Supercast. Does it work and what is the cost comparison to normal sinkers?

On one of the forums. They make the interchangeable MS sinkers and I wondered what the cost is and who stocks it. I will try and see where I saw it.

Iemand moet daarvan weet?

Evening,

bought meself a packet of the MS0 and MS1 from WAFT in Boksburg. R15 and R16 respectively for 8 sinkers per pack. Expensive yes, but wait......thats not all (sounds Glomail enough?)
The plastic pipes costs R23 for 20!! And you dont get them in smaller quantities!

The concept sounds great, but while making 8 traces, I was thinking.
This process only decreases the amount of traces you need. Say you usually had ten M0, ten M1's and ten M1.5's. Then with this concept, you only have to make 10 traces and have the same amount of the various weights available to interchange.

Yeah, its quick to interchange the weight once the trace is out of the water, but if you already load a 2nd trace BEFORE you take the first one out of the water, then its also a matter of removing the trace by unclipping the clip-on swivel.

My opinion, but I'm listening to other opinions.

The biggest problem I have with the concept, is that if you fish a hard bottom. The sinker will damage and be difficult to remove from plastic ??

What then ?

I think this concept should be a true "Glomail product"

I dont think that is such a big problem though. You can bend the sinker open with some tool and remove it, which again takes time.

Some of the sinkers didnt fit snuggly onto the plastic pipe. I had to bite on the ends to bend it close to secure them onto the little plastic pipe.

JustPlainSHARK now just imagine you are fishing tempo on a comp and then have to battle with the sinker problems ???

Thank you but I will rather make 200 different sinker size traces

Guys, I myself never have more that 10 traces in my box. I do however keep a few extra hooklinks which I can use for any trace needed on the day. But I normalle have 8 M1 rietvlie sliding and 2 M1.5 or M2 rietvlei sliding traces. Some venues where I know I might loose traces I would prep differently, but the Vaal has been nice to me so far.

Daai is piekfyn. Ek is net so lui waneer dit by klubkomps kom.

the biggest drawback for me is the price of the sinkers and then you have to buy the piping in a seperate packet. The traces are light yes, but you still have to have a set number of weights in your box to interchange them. So there are pro's and cons to the use of these sinkers.

I am not slamming or advocating anything here. This is just MY opinion.

I will be using the traces with these sinkers this weekend and give feedback of what my experience is with them.
