Centre pin katrolle

Hi daar

Ek het so paar weke gelede gaan hengel by n dam daar naby ons in Oudtshoorn. Ek is glad nie meer betrokke by club hengel nie so ek ken nie al die nuwe reels nie. So staan en gesels ek daar met een van die ouens en hy se toe vir my dat jy nie meer centre pin katrolle mag gebruik op kompetisie vlak nie. Wat is die rede vir dit? Ek het twee Orlando's wat ek nog altyd gebruik het en toe ek club hengel en selfs provinsiale vlak gehengel het, het almal hulle maar gebruik.

Kan iemand my se wat die rede agter dit is?

Het gister by ons voorsitter uitgevind dat mens wel nog centre-pins kan gebruik. Dalk kan iemand lig werp op die onderwerp.

Ek het nou die dag bietjie van my ou oewerhenghelaar-tydskrifte deurgeblaai waar daar foto's is van die verterane wat magnums gebruik by 'n kompetisie. Ek glo mens mag hulle nog gebruik.

Hi daar.

Ja ek wou se dis vir my snaaks dat hulle sou se mens mag nie meer die centre-pins gebruik nie. Soos ek se die ou met wie ek gesels het, hengel ook vir n club in Oudtshoorn en sy rede was dat die centre-pins te veel raas wat vir my nie eintlik n goed genoeg rede was nie, maar wou toe nou nie stry oor die saak nie.

When I go fishing in fresh water I still use Magnums. I believe that they are the best to use as there is no drag and a fish can run freely if it takes off.

I do switch the ratchet off when I am reeling a fish in though as that noise can probably irritate other fishermen.

For me though, they are seriously good reels, never pack up and gives you a good feel of the fish that you have on the line.

Bug at this stage I am thinking of spooling my Magnums with 7 LBS XX line, I had to throw away 2 grinders due to bearings that gave problems. Never had any problems with the Magnums or Alvey's. At this stage I only use them for barbels and they are spooled with Awa Shima 20 LBS.

Bug at this stage I am thinking of spooling my Magnums with 7 LBS XX line, I had to throw away 2 grinders due to bearings that gave problems. Never had any problems with the Magnums or Alvey's. At this stage I only use them for barbels and they are spooled with Awa Shima 20 LBS.

Ek moet se ek stem saam, ek gebruik al my Orlando's van Junior dae af en as ek al die vis moet bymekaar sit wat daai twee katrolle al gevang het...
Die nice ding van die centre pins is dat hulle nie breek nie en jy kry ook lekker distansie met hulle, jy het ook lekker beheer oor die vis interme van dat jy nie hoef te sukkel om die drag reg te stel ens nie. Ek sit ook my drag af as ek opkatrol, daar is niks so ireteerend soos n ou wat opkatrol met n centre pin wat se drag an is nie, dit sal my ook mal maak!!
Man, eks bly om te hoor daar is nog ouens wat centre pins gebruik!
Ek dink as n "ander ou" se centre pins te veel raas vir jou, beteken dit dalk dat hy besig is om meer vis as jy te vang;);)

As jy oorslaap die aand langs die dam, so twee-uur die oggend iemand se centre pin hoor skree is daar sommer so vibe langs die water. Het ouens al gesien vars aas opsit en sommer weer die vuur opstart vir 'n vinnige vleisie. My selfoon het eendag 'n paar ouens met 'n klub - kompetisie laat skrik toe ons langs hulle gesocial henghel het.

Hahaha, dis die ander goeie ding van die Magnums. As jy gaan slaap hoef jy nie te onthou om die drag bietjie los te maak nie. Dis vis sal nooit jou vistok kan steel nie.

Ek het al gesien waar manne hulle stokke en bait runners verloor het nadat 'n vis met hulle die water in was.

Hi there

I know of no rule of that kind. I know a lot of the club anglers prefer not to use the
centre pins because of the one on one time issue in a comp.
I must say I got rind of all my centre pins after one day angling at Ebenezer
At 250m.

I still have my magnum sports... love them.. i use them at nite when there is no stucture i need to get over.. the pros with the magnum sports is that you dont need to take the ratchet off when you reel in as the gear only works in reverse if you know what i mean.. First prize for many years were the Orlandos.. but the ONLY problem i have with them is that you cant set the tention on the drag.. it delivers a nice reel run but the fish.. eish shees not on... with the magnum sports you can set the drag a bit thus ensuring the hook is set after a reel run..
Distance.. i am in two minds as to which one casts betta .. magnum or baitrunner...
I just got a 6000 Gte to test drive.. going to homestead this afternoon with some spark plugs to test it..

.30 Bout 800

.25 Bout 900

.21 Bout 1200

I normally put backing on my spools..( thick line) .35 or .40.. then cople of winds with .30 and then with .25 or .23 (7lbs)

I just love my Orlandos the only problem i find is the loop left when casting in the Cape Town wind lol
theyre brilliant though

give me a pair of night hawks any day.i have been fishing with them since i have been 7 years old and for me there is no replasement.I have a pair of baitrunners aswell and can fish just as fast with the night hawks as with the baitrunners.nothing beat a good center pin.
