Cathedral merely describes the type of hull, there are many variations on it but generally, in my opinion, it's a flat water boat. I have a Boston Whaler (a well renowned variant of cathedral hull) and it's not very nice as soon as the chop goes over about 300-400mm. Other than that, it's a great, stable platform that gets up on the plane with minimal HP. A great estuary boat.
