A few tips that could produce a better catch

When it comes to fishing, it seems we anglers can never get enough information. You now that the old saying, right? Fishing tips are like a - hole, everybody’s got on! Why this is certainly true, the key is finding quality fishing tips comes from one simple thing.

Experince. These's simply no substitute for spending time at or on the water practicing the art of fishing, which is what I've been doing for the past few years. Not only that, but these 3 fishing tips to catch more fish weren't born from my experience alone. All this experience and you can benefit from it by reading an article that will take five minutes of your time. Not a bad deal, in my opinion.Hey, evens if you decide that these 3 fishing tips are a bunch of BS you're only out five minutes.

PAY ATTENTION TO YOURSELF - When I say pay attention to yourself, I’m referring to two specific area; your hands and your body in relation to the sun, or in other the words your shadow. When it comes to  your hands you want to make sure that your hands are free of from any unnatural odors.Few things that will cost you bites like inadvertently adding unnatural scent to your bare and / lure. This is especially true for the live bare angler. The easy remedy for this is to grab a lure. Now for you shadow. Make shore you aren't casting your shadow on the area that you're fishing. This is especially true for the wading rives and / or stream angler.

PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR HOOK - This fishing tip is incredibly important (especially to the live bait angler), yet it is often overlooked. Live bait anglers should always use gang hooks, especially when fishing with any manifestation of a worm. Gang hooks are simply a pair of small hooks tied in tandem.thus enabling worms to be presented in an outstretched and natural manner. This makes u HUGE difference in both bites rates and hook ups.The second hook helps to nab those ' short striking' fish. Paying attention to your hooks simply means using gang hooks in live bait situations.

PAYING ATTENTION TO THE WEATHER AND THE MOON - This is a very simple fishing tip, and definitely one that will help you catch more fish. These two forces of Nature have an incredible impact on the behaviour of fish, and using this information to your advantage will help you have much more fishing success. For example, did you know that when the moon is in a certain phases you should be on or at the water fishing? Pay attention to the weather and the moon, use this information to your advantage, and start catching more fish. It really is as simple as that.

thanks for that, definitely not a wasted 5min! to add to that is local knowledge of conditions and types of bait to use. also using the freshest possible bait makes a difference.

The Eagle has landed!

Only three......those three points can extrapolate into thousands!

Good place to start from though. I have been taking notes for years. Best way to become a complete angler is to steal with your eyes, get to know your quarry, think like a fish and don't be a LAZY FISHERMAN.

Active fishermen attain better results. Think about that when you don't feel like re-baiting.

What works for me was to keep a bucket of water by my side, just before and after baiting up I give them a rinse.if one has been eating something oily I would  use something with lemon in it like dish washing liquid eg...

Do NOT use dishwashing liquid or any other soap. I read in one of the fishing books using some aniseed essence in the bucket u rinse ur hands in takes away all other smells, and also does not discourage fish in any way.

The most important chemical to never get on ur hands is suntan lotion. That stuff will scare a seebaber away. That's why my hands always end up sunburnt purple.

Also if u like me and tend to bite ur line when u are putting traces together, remember the SPF lipbalm u put on has the same effect!!

I haven't experienced negative effects from having suntan lotion on my hands, in fact I caught two grunters with it on my hands.

As usual with most of these guidelines, ymmv (your mileage may vary).

I'm not to sure if smoking has an effect or not. Let's just say that i've seen smokers and non smokers get pulls in comps.

When fishing socially put a few drops of anaseed in your bucket with water and rinse your hands before you touch the bait

Don't use anything with citrus. No orange, naartjie, lemon. There is no faster way to ensure that you do not catch fish.
Suntan lotion, will 9 out of ten times, impact on your fishing. I was almost beaten up by a national angler because I put my sun tan lotion bottle on his bait box. Wear gloves to put the stuff on.
Smoking seems to have no impact. I have seen both smokers and non smokers catching fish in competitions.
It is important to remember that the fish sense of smell is different to ours.
Personally I do not use any soap on my equipment, water only.

I always have a couple of oranges on board. Now that could explain those 'dead' days ... but what about the good days?! Mmmmmmm
