Casting of shark Bait

I am a complete newbie when it comes to shark fishing. I have tried to google the best way to cast shark bait from the shore. I am not having much success.

Does anyone know where a good URL (website) is so i may have a better idea of casting with a heavy bait. Or if you could you try to break it down for me. I would really appreciate the feedback.

Last thing I want to do is break and snap leaders and ruin my day.

Cheers

Bru if you snapping leaders your doing something wrong mate, ie your leadet is way too thin! I'm no pro when it comes to. Casting big baits but I can give you my method. Use I drop of about 1/2 your rod length. Then swing / lob your bait from a stationary position iow a slow gradual with a spool release at about 1''o'clock rather than 2. it requires a little more punch as it the bait comes over your head , ie when the bait is at about 10oclock you need to put a little more force into your right arm extending it as well as well as retracting your left arm . Quite hard to explain. Pm Boepens or Enigma and I'm sure they can give you a better explanation

Good explanation!

My advice, start with smaller baits (flapped mullet) and progress onto bigger and bigger baits. This will also get you used fighting and landinng smaller (20 -50kg) fish before jumping straight into the deep end and trynna take on triple digits. Hooking them is the easy part.

Your tackle and casting action will determine the size bait you can cast. Also keep in mind the bigger the bait, the bigger the sinker you use. I use an 8 or a 9oz when casting a whole mackrel or yellowtail head for example
