Casting distance

Hi.. i have a elbe waverunner.. 13.6ft rod with a shimano 20/40 reel.. and i am not getting the distance that im getting on my other rod and daiwa saltist reel.. i have used my daiwa on elbe rod... and still i dont get the distance.. so it must be the elbe rod... i dont know what tip is on the elbe.. but it feels stiff.. like a 6-8oz.. i have tried casting a 5 ounce and a 6 ounce weight.. do you think i should go to 7 ounce? any help? thanx

Try and throw a 8oz and bliksem it.Use a sinker drop to your second eye of your rod and you'll be fine.If it is that heavy tip(HMG)then it can cast up to a 9oz easily. Got a mate who pulled a 170kg rag on that rod easily and who regularly throws 130m+ with a 8oz.

thanx dave.. i will try that... see when im cast im not afraid to blixem the rod.. that is how i cast.. but its not working now... i will see with the 8 oz... will try it tomorrow... thank you

Wiaan,i have the same Rod.I will class the Elbe 13.6 (3 piece) as a light setup. My opinion.

I had the same problem but then paired the Elbe wit a Sl 30 and cast small baits with 3/4 onze sinkers.I must admit that my distance have improved allot.
