So boys....its been a year since I posted my question about how to cast a big reel.

So taking all your advice and anything I could find on sealine about it....I practiced with any big reel I could lay my hands on whenever I could..... Every heavy rod I or any of my friends owned.... Trying to find balance and what suits me.

Eureka! I finally got the big reel going....I can now cast the big rig! Not massive but edging towards the 100m mark....(95m measured with a tape measure).

In the end I ended up finding that my original t-flex /7 (with a trimmed tip)did the best job for me throwing a 9oz....it was the one rod I hadn't tried.I've even bought a Trini 50 at an amazing price. Nice bit of bling....and now I intend putting in the hours to get that beaut really working.

Thanks for a great site. All your advice and various topics have really helped me develop my angling. Now I just need to catch something on it and learn to post pics._seal1_

Great stuff!You proberly can't wait for the summer months so you can load that rod with a big rag bait, I use my tor 30 for toothies and works great for me but I am on a lookout for a tip for my loomis wich I broke on a legue event and then I will too be on the hunt.

Gully Hunter, i also receantly invested in a Trini 50, if there is 1 word of advice i can give u it is to speak to Cuban Cigar here on sealine and get that Trini maged;)!

Before i maged mine i was consistantly getting 80-85m on every cast and after i maged it i get well over 100m and the best part is u don't have to worry about a kraaines or burnt thumbs etc, u just let rip and remove ur thumb from the spool and u will be amazed!

@mustbite..I personally love my Tor30...but was feeling a lil under gunned after being almost spooled twice in like 2 weeks,and at places like st francis.

@kliphard...I'll definitely look into getting it magged. Just relieved that I can finally cast it.

Shot boys....come on summer! :ssswim::ssswim::ssswim::ssswim::fishn
