U see this whole Daiwa vs Shimano debate shows that both are good brands with good reels.  It all depends on your budget as the Daiwa is a bit more expensive. My next reel will def be a Trinidad as the Saltiga is too expensive! 

Buddy, facts are we just use you UNinformed daiwa fanatics for entertainment, in reality there is only ONE true brand with kick @ss reels of high quality........ yep you guessed it ..........

I can never take offence as I love my Sealine 30 and Grandwave 40!  They are my reels for edible fish and they do the job!

Wrt your second comment, Im no Daiwa fanatic, I own 2 Daiwas and aTorium.  Honestly, if you asked me why I went for the Torium, it was because it was more economical ...

But my view is that (and the votes reflect that) Shimano will be more popular a reel than Daiwa as it is cheaper ...

I mean, what car do you see more of on the road, a Citi Golf or lets say a GTI?

You missing my point, it does matter!!  The reason you have more people fishing with Daiwa is the price! Its logical that you would rather pay less for a similar reel!!

Shimano is a class reel, yes Im not arguing with that but so are the Daiwa's ...
