Hey happy people of Sealine

I tried my hand at carp fishing on Saterday and found It relaxing
Im a full on Saltwater fishermen but this carp fishing is good for when da ladyfriend wants to come with to spen time with me while im enjoying my hobby.

But now i want to know how the hell do you catch thees buggers, I know that Its pap without the wors and mielie bomb but that is it.

Is there any special way to rig, please give some advice

Thanks

Best person to ask would be our resident "Pap Swaaier" expert Jacques.
Maybe worth sending him a PM

As the "bling caster" said I might be able to assist (just might). This link below will help a bit.

If the dam you targeting is fished a lot I would suggest the following baiting method:

Rig: Sliding Rietvlei
Top Hook: Plain white dough with small competition floatie (yellow)
Bottom Hook: 2 x competition floaties (yellow)

On the mielie bom:
FX with either
- Perdeby
- Stutafords
- Devilsfork

The 3 below must be applied very little (earbud stripe on the ball) - more would chase the fish away instead of attracing.

Dip the bottom hook into the FX aswell.

The FX is the "taker" where the Perdeby, Devilsfork and Stutafords are "callers"

Make sure to keep on casting on one spot to establish a feeding spot - VERY IMPORTANT. This should be done at a distance that you can comfortably reach.

Keep your lines in for max 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 min.

I think that I shall take my 14ft rod and shimano tdl and slide my bait into the dam with my non return clip. Using my high abrasive fluorocarbon leader For in case the fish takes me to the reeds
HE HE

I went to the fishing shop and saw all those muties and weird mielie stuff and the weirdest looking sinkers
But tomoro Im going fishing for some shad because that is something I do understand, but there will be another day at the dam with my pot going and my line in the water and hopefully get a carp or something

Not only will it work but it will also give the crap sorry i meant carp caught, the necessary head start of being curried the way I like to eat them, so be sure to fleck the crap eish carp and vacuum pack it before sending it via speed mail to me, as I havn't had any in a very long time.....:hungr

Yman if you really want (need) to go out and fish for carp then go to your fishing shop there you will find traces already made buy something commen like a rietvlei rig it works all over and if you want to there is also some that has bait on already, for the bom you will find premixed , preflavoured miellie bom that u just put on the sinker. so one two three and your done. this is what the begginers and ly gat carp fisherman do give it a go?
