Caribbean

My cousin and I are going to the Caribbean in november on a University working holiday but we are still looking for a second job. We will most likely be based in St. Croix but if we can find a better than minimum wage job we will rather take it.

So if anybody knows somebody that could be of assistance it would be of great help?

ps. I'm obviously taking a rod along...

Hey DJP,

Speak to Nepps. He lived there for a few years. I was in St Lucia a long time ago, but will go through my black book and see what I can come up with, if Nepps can`t help you.

Good luck

Thanks Gavin, much appreciated.

Any other info would be cool as well...like dont eat this or that or watch out for Cubans....

I will put up a post on what tackle to take along and fish to expect later...if I do that now the exitement might get to me...lol!

DJP,

No worries.

What to watch out for is drugs: the islands are awash with them. The locals will try to greet you with a handshake, and in their palms will be a little bit of something wrapped in tinfoil.....They will then say it`s a gift, BUT please give a couple of dollars because the family is hungry! Try stay away from that shit.

Foodwise, most things are good, with braaied chicken being a favourite. They have good seafood like conch amongst others.

Oh yes, brush up on your dominoe skills. They love that game!

My memory is a little hazy from all the rum and lager I consumed out there, but if I think of anything I will give you a shout.

Cheers
