Do NOT go to cape Vidal.
You will be DISCRIMINATED against.
Take your money and family to Mozambique, you will be welcomed.
The marine officer at Vidal embarrassingly could not give me one valid reason why the rule is in place.
Due to ignorance and this is how pitifully slow the authorities are, an aqua quad was classified as a jet ski in there moment of confusion and not allowed to launch.
It means 20 ski’s can launch a day but only 3 at a time, so you must wait for someone to come in and then play tag and let the next ski launch, pathetic decision making. I think the vervets made that rule up while drinking the stolen black labels.
Our craft have been recognised and classified to fish off and we HAVE to be treated as equals.
Please send all complaints to these people. We cannot be ignored and have to be heard.

Just got back from Vidal......What a farce now even Skiboats cant launch until 5am. Glad I took my kayak and not the Jetski. Kirk "Go Fish editor" Newton was with me on an Aquaquad. We were going to film and photo catching fish from kayaks and they wouldnt let him launch on an Aquaquad. They said it was a Jetski !!!! Next morning he went to the launch site at 1am....He was third in the queue!!!! I bet they are P***ing themselves laughing at us. They should focus more on fixing their run down accommodation and cut down on a few staff members (5 were working in the shop!) Anyways I have spoken to SADSAA president and we are trying to get a meeting with the management at Isimangaliso ASAP. In the mean time take Larrys advice and constructively email them please. If the nice approach doesn't work we go to plan B then plan C

Isimangaliso think that they are above the law and don't really care about South African Tourists. If they really were worried about us they would at least talk to us and consult with the fishing community.
40 boats are allowed to launch a day at Vidal, i believe it is set a 40 to reduce driving on the beach. Even during large comps at Vidal 40 boats dont even launch. So why not allow some of the Jetskis launch.
What are they worried about. If a boat goes out with three people on board they are allowed to ring back 10 cuta each, that is 30 fish. Generally jet skis only have one person on board, so there impact of the fishing is much less. As jet skis are lighter, they will also have less compaction on the beach. I just cannot find a logical reason to limit jet skis.

Surley there are enough owners of jetski's out there to either get their clubs to do this or contribute to a war chest and hire a lawyer to take on the relavent parks board official? I have heard that the relavant official concerned is Mr.Zalumis.

Thats not actually true they are being discriminatory against the jetski fraternity. And that is against the law and your constitutional rights.
The reason they are getting away with it is because they are being allowed to.
Take the mater up with the clubs and perhaps get a legal opinion on the matter.
If they say there is nothing you can do so be BUT if they say it is infringing on your rights and you have a case THEN do take the mater to court.
If you allow them to get away with it well then dont complain if you cant launch.

i dont think we gonna get any where with them.
lucky for me, my other boat is in the sorting out.
so one of these days, i'm gonna give them the middle finger when launching with the boat.
