Hi will be going to Cape Town around Christmas time.

I've done a number of searches on bait presentation...all set and ready!!!!

Now just want and need to know where can I target kob/small skate in Cape Town not too far out of cape town please..
First timer!

Good Luck! Can't wait for my leave to start so I can get the hell out of Cape Town and go somewhere where the fishing is good...

Prepare yourself to put in crap loads of time for very few fish... Sometimes you're lucky and rock up at a spot when there's fish, but seriously, if you don't catch something within 35mins at a spot, the fish are not there so get in your car and try the next spot...

Hey man..welcome to CT!!

The are some good spots if you are targeting kob in False Bay. Problem is I know the spots by name and it'll be difficult to explain. You have to Google the geo positions of it or just look it up on the map.
Saturday past they were trekking at Muizenberg beach and a whole lot of steenbras and kob were caught in the net. They were all size also. The guys handed it out to the public for free!!! I don't have pics to confirm this. Then further to your left of Muizenberg, at Strandfontein Pavillion, next to the pool is a spot called Broken road. You chance of catching something here is good ( tide, wind & water dependent).
Then also to the left Strandfontein, 5km stretch, there a number of points/stops you can pull over at and wet your line. These places are all safe too, day or night.
Like I said, these are but a few and you can confirm the positions via Google maps. Goodluck man

hi there. i was out yesterday at the Gordons Bay habour. tried everything i had and nothing not even a bite. there were plenty guys fishing like 20+ and i saw a little girl pull out one barbel and another guy pulled in a small shad so small it looked like a sardine in my bait box. so i would love to know where the fish are. the local say the weather is all wrong and i am starting to believe them. the weather looks great today just dont know where to go.

Hi... we were standing at Broken road next to Stranfontein Pavillion from 8am till now. Caught three sting rays, a shark and a stumpnose between me and my buddy. Good fun for the day as the rays put up a nice fight with my light tackle. Other than that, the color of the water was not nice and it was rolling very fast.
The guys next to us caught an under size Steenie on prawn. So, not a good report for the day.

i must say i was at the habour from 1:30 till now and the wind eventually blew us off the wall. nothing. tried prawn, chokka, sardine, combo's of all of them, spoons dropshot all my bag had and nothing. there were plenty rods in the water and the best i saw was a guy that caught a maasbanker on a hook that when he brought it in he hooked straight up on the same line and put it in as a live bait and then when i left now now he still had nothing and packed up too. i dont know but the locals say the weather is not right. anyways will try tomorrow or the next day again. have to keep trying must catch something some time or other.

hi carpy, there's a lot of sealine guys from g/bay,most are very helpful/friendly,,but i think most have gone fishing,,,,maybe to plett or somewhere! even greg is closed till jan,,(gb. tackle)!
i havent had a throw for 2 weeks, due to all the people visiting on holiday,, but must say we need a southeaster for about 3-4 days to get colour' in the water,.. water is warmish,18c,,but clear. might pay to try night fishing at blakes,or early morning at melkbay beach,by early ,,i mean still dark, till 7ish,,, try to wade out to a reef by ocean hotel,, but not the middle of the day. good luck!:fishn
