I am using an Omer camo suit that I bought at Rabitech in Kuilsriver. I have no idea whether it contains the rubber you are referring to, but the suit is fantastic and really keeps me warm (and I dive in the Saldanha area!)

Thanks Richard, Will try them.
I had a look at Bajau wetsuits, but unfortunately they only come in 3mm, to thin for Western Cape I suppose.

Does coral wetsuits in woodstock still operate? If so check them out..They can custom make you a suit, they used to always do my surfing suit customizing and go out of their way to help..

There are a number of options available to you.

Imported suits. Some very good quality as well as the poor quality, best guide is price, you get what you pay for. Have a look at the specialist suppliers.

Local. Rob Allen make a very nice suit and a custom made suit is worth the extra money in my opinion. The old Cressi in Jo'Burg, now called 360 also make a quality product but their neoprene is a bit stiff.

I have an Omer 3mm which over time has become a 11/2mm as it has compressed, and not over a long time either. Very soft material, open cell. Also an imported Cressi 5mm open cell, excellent quality.

Open cell means that the neoprene is uncovered by nylon fabric, i.e. the rubber sits against your skin. Comfortable, warmer, but it does mean you need a slip juice to get it on, I use aqueous cream mixed with water, pour into suit and slide in. Can be a hassel. Also you need to be careful as it tears easily. Ask at your local dive shop for more info. A starting point for you would be Rabitech.

Thanks Steady, Appreciate you sharing some info.
I already spoke to Rabitech and I think I'am gonna go for Rob Allen custom made suit. May I ask in your opinion what camo color would be best for western cape waters and mainly reef.

To be honest I have never believed that the camo helps you hide away from fish. I think that we make so much noise in a foreign environment the fish are well aware that we are there long before we see them. Fish that do come in do so out of curiosity or we are concealed before they swim into the area. The biggest challenge is we want to hide away from the fish and yet be visible to our dive buddy. Huge problem. Diving in the kelp makes you very difficult to see from the surface once you are on the floor anyway. Having said all of that I would go for the brown version if you really want to kide in the kelp, not a big fan of the blue in the middle of your pic. but really like the green one on the left. If it were my suit I would go for the green because then I would like how I look  So my advice is go for the one you like. Enjoy the new suit, Rob Allen is a good choice.
