cable repair

hi all,

the connector at the end of my arial cable has come off, it looks like a coaxial cable. does joining it again just entail pushing the end in and crimping?

there is a copper point and then a shielded cable behind which can be stripped a bit to expose the shielding which is the part that looks like it could be crimped to casing of connector.

anyone have any experience here.

ps. my connector from my garmin gps arial has also come off (don't ask), this one looks a bit more sinister. any advice here, don't want to buy new one!!!

Gumboot, if you buy a 29mhz antenna, the connector aslo came loose from the wire.

The hard wire in the middle, think copper, must be long enough to go into the thin female part if the connecter, the other part must go into the thicker female part, you just turn it on like a tv antenna.

The part connecting to the radio can screw loose if you turn it backwards, put that firts over the wire, before you screw on the inner part and then you turn the outer part back on.

I think the Garmin attenna can be a bit more tricky and you may needs some tools or a proffesional.

I your are going to a shop to help you they will tell you to buy a new GA30 attenna at R615.
