C/C 16 foot Cat

Howzit Guys,

Well I wented out to sea yesterday on newish 16 foot C/C cat with two 50 four stroke suzukis, the sea condition where good but I still woke up the morning with a stiff back!!

These are the problems I found and for a boat that is only just over a year old i wasnt very impressed!!

1) port side motor loosing connections at gauges
2)gauges didnt seem to be waterproof
3) No bottom end power( in the surf i would be buggered)
4) gel goat cracks everywhere
5) pounds in the sea no matter what trim u at!
6) generally badly finished
7) controls tight
8) cant turn steering when fully tilted up
9)beaching kits very tight

Guys test the boats before u buy them!!!.

Hi Lemon,

My gauges also gets moist inside sometimes.

Do you know what size props it had on. Would like to know what hull it was and the weight. My duck is obviously very lighter, I have the std 14 pitch props.

Besides the bad ride, the rest sounds like bad fitment

Not sure what size props forgot to check on the beach!!!

I dont want to really comment on who build what and who did what but really to get it out there that guys buying boats have to test them!! I have always fished on z crafts and yelds and always compare boats to that!! Good thing or bad thing I dont know, but what I do know is that I will save my money and buy what is tried and tested!!
