My expectations have been far exceeded. Yeah there are a few minor issues that need sorting out and which Tomcat have invited me to come forward with but all in all a great rig including the trailer - perfectly balanced and aligned - just two launches and I'm already powering straight on without any hassles - the boat simply glides right on.
@BFC you are right about the 140's - I am over-powered but I love it! I am still well within spec in terms of max power and weight of the motors. Best part is the consumption is almost the same as my 70's on the 17foot.
Just proves that the Tomcats aren't as heavy as they are rumoured to be - in fact total weight of entire rig is 2500kg.
Have to agree re the trailers. Nothing ruins boating more than a bum trailer and after some of the horror stories one sees on Sealine, we are well-off I reckon. I beach launch into a lagoon so calm but very shallow so I had them fit a 5m extension boom. Works like a dream and the vehicle can push in and haul out without getting its feet wet. You only need to get the keel strips on the first couple of rollers and then she winches easliy by hand and comes up dead straight. Even when there is a bit of surge and the boat wants to crab the design of the skid plates means she comes on straight.
Performance-wise I am getting 4-6 hours at varying speeds on 25 lit per engine for those 90 Suzukis. Very impressive. 19" props give me 35kts at just under 5000rpm so she will top out at over 40....more than one can use in the open sea most days. You have a rocket!
Only issue I have is trim and tilt playing up but I posted separately on that under "boating" so will not repeat here. That is obviously not the fault of the boat itself.
