Hi
There is a spot just outside Kokstad called wattle crane resort. I have caught a couple of browns in the dam but you do work hard to catch them. The dam is mostly stocked with rainbows. My success rate in catching browns there is 1 brown to 50 rainbows. My biggest there is 7.5lbs
Time to fish for them is very early morning just before sunrise and very late afternoon just before dark. Best time of year April to June. Flies used for the browns were mostly walkers killers, black wooly buggers and small nymphs. All the fish caught fed on the bottom. Use a fast sinking line. very slow retrieval. figure 8 retrieval
