Anyone know if breede river producing?
Going to do bit of work close to infanta and thought of light tackle going with for some evenings relaxation

Ja the river is very fresh, heard they caught 2 carp at the Breede River Lodge close to the mouth of the estuary.
Also lots of hyacinths and weeds floating down the river.

Nice spots to do some light tackle fishing for Galjoen and Kolstert if fishing from the rocks on the Infanta coast.

Didn't land up going after all.....love that carp at the lodge...lol...see the gents are smashing big kob down false bay looks like some have lost the idea of it being a hobby and are using drones to take bait out...

And my 'sources' tell me a fair bit of those large kob land up sold to snoekies. We will see how long false bay produces..

has the river started to turn a bit more salty? or is it still fresh as a daisy?

I'm heading the weekend to that side, so I want to check all the spots out. I get the feeling I must stay away from the river at the moment.

Fished at Witsand surf this weekend, water was still quite brown. Not sure how fresh the river is but haven't heard of catches yet...

I am going to be in witsand from 20 sept. Any advice on fish typ to try for. normally fish in bend in river before entering the sea off the beach
and from the restaurant on the rocks

Morning, I was a bit earlier in the month there, water is starting to become salty, so fish should start to appear now.

We got a lot of small fish in the river and a hound shark,
by the east side of Witsand I believe I had a cracker on till the line snapped. we also got a 121 cm spottie and something, probably a hammer head bit my sinker off on my one bait.

I was up at breeds from the 9th to 13th of August. Fished the river off a boat and did manage to get fish. Was hard work but there are fish around. For the 5 days managed 5 grunter, lots of small steenbras, lots of stumpies, and a couple blacktail. Fish were caught mainly on mudprawn andbest catches were in the shallows just past Giellie SE huis on the infanta side. Kob wasn't around but should have moved in by now

Just got back - was there for the last week.
Offshore fishing - 2 guitar fish, 2 blacktail and a smooth hound shark.
