That trip - Be it a drinking trip or a fishing trip????

:fbash

good point.theres the support crew and the recce crew and the fishermen.

support crew = braai watchers , cooler box fillers and emptiers and breakfast makers = 6 crew members

recce crew = transport of beverages between base and fishing site = 4 crew members

fishermen = those of us who know how to make up traces , tie baits , cast etc. = 2 crew members

Good luck with this weekend. I farm in the Breede Valley and the river is still pushing a fair bit. Just remember that if the river water is flowing hard out at the mouth, the sea water is often lying underneath it. (Salt water is denser and heavier) Apparently there are some cracker about so you can always give the sea a go if the river is not working.

Hey boet!

The fishermen are outnumbered 10 to 2.

On asumption the support crew would probably be made up of female - Wife / chick / goose etc.

Recce crew - They would consist of loud mouth big beer belly beer drinkers seeing that the support crew are to perform the function of filling coolerboxes and sorting out the food. Don't forget the 4 x 4's. The time it takes to get drink & food from the camp site to point of where all the action takes place is of great importance.

Seems like to 2 fishermen will have the best job for that trip. Just bait up, catch some fish and wait for food & drink.

the march trip is all blokes.customers and senior staff at the company.its our annual pr event and a tradition now.last year was de mond and the year before was die dam.

dont believe the fishermans job is the easiest.10 laymen who have no idea asking you to trace up and bait up is a horrible experience.my mate and i who organise the event normally go up one day earlier just to get some fishing done before the mob arrives.

head downstream .... fishing starts getting good opposite the  mudlark guest house (prawn flats for grunter) then powerlines a little further up also brings in the odd kob.
