Breede River Accommodation

I'm looking to spend a weekend on the Breede River with some mates in October, and I'm looking for some information on worthwhile venues.

So far I've looked at River Goose Campsite (http://www.rivergoosecampsite.co.za/)
and Riverzicht River Resort (http://www.rivierzicht-resort.com/).

Both look and sound great in theory, but having never been, I can't say.
Has anyone ever been to either, and are there other venues with cheap/inexpensive accommodation that you would recommend?

Help a brother out.

Shell cottages is also good. Nice verandah looking over the little public harbour and is very nice and at a good price. If you Google it, you'll get contact numbers.

Looks awesome, but I'm looking for something a little more upriver.
We want to go target carp. In retrospect I should've specified.
That being said, the next time I'm on an estuarine mission, this spot will be high on the list.

i was at river goose two years back. i was there in feb so i imagine the river will be much much higher now than it was when i was there. back then the fishing was reasonable, tons of small baber but that could just maby be the time of year i was there. i caught a few nice carp of around 3 - 4 kg's over the weekend. there was also a lot of small bass and bluegill present that you can catch with earth worms without much trouble. the resort is very neat with grass banks up until the water. i would certainly go again if i could find the time.

Try Kambati. Further upstream but has lots of carp.
