Brandfontein near Agulhas

The past few weeks the Brandfontein spot has been delivering very nice catches of Galjoen and Belman. Many anglers have returned with their bag limits reached, and very few come back empty handed.

The fish are mostly caught on Red Bait and worm, and the best bet is to find foamy water just before the bamboo. We were there this weekend - not the best weather with a strong wind yesterday and rain today, but landed 3 young galjoen (all released). With the weather clearing I will be back in the week.

I have NEVER been to brandfontein, do you have a nice fishing spot for steenbras?

at the parking where the chalets are, there is a gully straight ahead of you... steenbrass come and feed here.

Subaruseun we where there yesterday(did not use your spot but plan to) but further down the beach. Everybody pulled some NICE steenbras and galjoen there! Am very pleased with that area.

Its between Die Dam and Agulhas... In our Interklub 2 years back i walked from Suiderstrand to fish past Pietie se huis and then to soetwater then was too far to walk back so we hitched a lift from fellow anglers who parked further down at brandfontein, look the fishing is awesome their! this time of year its worth the Galjoen fishing and steenies, BUT... there is loads of juvenile fish too!
