Braid problem

Need some quick advice

Loaded my grinder with braid 600m+  jigging braid

Saw my line peeling off without my ratchet going. The problem my braid was just spinning on the spool without turning the spool the braid is wound on there tight

Do I put a piece if rubber tubing on pool then wind the braid above that ?

Firts time this has happend to me

tie it to mono first then wind it on the reel
