Howzit Guys,
One of our club members had the misfortune of flipping his boat on saturday! He got trapped under the boat for a long time until the boat was rolled over on the beach, he said that he could not get from under the boat while it was in the surf because of the life jacket, but was not going to take it off in fear of something worse happening. The younger crew member did take his off as he was not injured and was able to assist the skipper under the boat!
I feel the jacket saved the day and his life!! We often see the the best skippers been beaten by the sea and thats why we have safety equipment!!
This was a wake up call for all of us that launched, we all wish the skipper a speedy recovery and hope to see him back on the water soon!
