Boat rework

Hi Guys,

 

just started my new project, Viking cabin boat. My last boat is sprayed with 2K with a primer below cause of the hand paint job. This boat is in fair condition, but I am going to respary.

Which paint is the better to use, 2k or duco, or is the something else you guys could recommend.

 

Your help will really hepl me make the correct choice!

think duco is a 2k other wise glatex 8

Glatex 8 is the best a company called libra paints is selling this paint they call it polyurethane just mention you want to paint fibreglass they will give you the correct stuff glatex 8 is about 2 times the price this is like 80 bucks for a liter and it is tuff stuff.

I can get 2k white for R60\L which is not bad considering I am going to use about 10L.

Hi Royden

Glatex 8 in my opinion will outlast most other paints and is incredably hard and durable. The downside is that it comes in very limited colours (grey & white). You may be able to get other colours but I've never seen it.

I stand to be corrected buy it cant be sprayed. I believe it's been done but isn't easy at all to spray.
