Blue Marlin

Hi looking for Blue Marlin 10f - 12ft  rod  for a multiplier, second hand rod and not too expensive. Not interested in the 14f rods. I want to throw a 3oz sinker and want to pair it with a Saltist 40.

Any advice on the combo or alternatives would be appreciated

Saltist 40 might be a little un balanced with a 10-12ft.

Perhaps a smaller reel would be best suited.

Thanks Splasher for your input. What are your thoughts on the following: I have a Toruim 30, Saltist 40 and Saltist 50 in my arsenal. Nothing smaller I am afraid. Currently using Assassin Medium and Blue Marlin G3. I am quite tall and figured my nearly 2 meters in height would make up for the lack of rod length...

I use the sl 30 on my loomis 12ft my best combo

Hi the setup would be for surf fishing (mostly from the beach and not really rocks)

Cool, I got myself a BM the raptor, its 10"6 and can cast up to 4OZ. Paired it with a Sargus 5000 and 9kg braid. Use it as a scratching rod throwing medium size baits for kob, its a shad killer and casts spoons and plugs effortless.
Don't know if that is similar to what you want. Will set you back about R1700
