BLUE FIN TUNA

I'm an angler, I also kill fish, but when I see large fish like these, then it makes me rather uneasy.
Bear in mind that Blue fin Tuna no longer exist along our coast in any numbers since the early 1970, all finished and gone.
Maybe its only me.

As I said these were emailed to me by a friend and this fish were caught in NEW ZEALAND, not our coast line as you said.Please dont get me wrong I to kill fish and catch a large amount of tuna while here. I just thought by posting these to show all here on SEALINE the BLUEFIN and what amazing size they actully get..

With fish that size who needs to go to gim. One of those once a month will be more than enough exersise. That's what dreams are made off.

No didn't get you wrong or take offence in any way, was just doing the "female thing" and expressing a feeling.
Don't know if you are aware of the story, but during about 1973 (if I remember correctly) a shoal of these fish moved in to false bay for some unknown reason and were hunted down, each and every one of them was caught and killed over some weeks.
Those were probably the last Blue fin seen at the Cape.
I remember one about the size of those in your picture hanging on a scale at the goods yard of the Simonstown Station.
Maybe someone knows more about that?
