Bloemhof - Disappointing

That is very strange . May be it was just one of those days ?
Did you try different distances ? There are many islands under the water ? That not always visible .
Then you can do anything, try anything ,but nothing want to take the bait !
This time of year can be very difficult at any dam . May be better luck next time .

Hey Fat Lenny we went to Loskop dam and we had the same there, we didnt even had a bite. We went to the cable but even there nothing. The wind was blowing like crazy.

Same here, we were at Kommandosdrift, 8 rods in the water from Friday afternoon till Sunday morning, only one small carp and baber. Fishing is normally good there.

We also went to bloemhof for the weekend and only got one carp of 3kg between 3 of us. I also dont know what was wrong, saw lots of fish jumping quite far out but nothing was biting. Asked lots of people there and no one caught anything.
Bloemhof probably only has one such weekend in a year and we were just unlucky enough to hit it! my 5c.

There may be something luring the fish elsewhere. I doubt a bait boat will do the trick, get a real boat and go where the fish are.

Hey there fat lenny, not sure what happened on your trip but i went to bloemhof sandveld this past weekend and fishing was great we caught 9 carp and lost about 20. Took some advice from the other guys on this site and it paid off. Made a feeding spot to lure the fish in and it seemed to work until the wind picked up.

well, we were using as hook baits plain white degie, whole kernal corn, floaties (plain yellow, bunspice, tutti frutti) and worms. On the bomb we were using bunspice, sweetcorn was the favourite, tutti frutti. Feeding spot i used normal bomb +-30kg mixed with maples, tiger nuts and hemp seed. As well as molasses blocks.

Hi Enigma, these kids are awesome guess i could learn a thing or two from them. Whats extra special is to see the younger generation taking to this sport like wildfire.
Please advise, in preparation of your spot at bloemhof how do you go about creating your feeding spot (method and composition of feed). And which stands - A..B..C..D..ETC seem to production the best fish (quantity)
